Context
WeJammin lets rappers, singers and producers make a music video on their phone: pick a beat, record vocals over it on camera, add effects, and post the finished video to the feed or share it to Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp.
The problem
A music video made on a phone needs two hard things at once: real-time audio that most app frameworks can't do, and video editing that has to run on the phone itself: recording, trimming, mixing the vocal into the video and exporting a file ready to share. There was no team to split that across: product, design, the audio engine, the apps, the backend, the store launch and the growth were all mine.
Proof

WeJammin's own Google Play Console, 23 October 2026: 1.39 lakh (about 1,38,800) total installs. Screenshot from my developer account; I'm happy to show it live on a call.
The app, screen by screen
Every screen here is exported from the WeJammin Figma file I designed: screens 1–14 are the create flow, from picking a beat to sharing; 15–19 are the feed. See WeJammin on Google Play ↗
What I built
FFmpegKit on Android: mux the vocal mix into the camera take, loop a GIF into an MP4 the length of the song, pull the audio out of an imported video, trim, and burn in a WeJammin watermark that moves corner to corner every 5 seconds.
Shoot the video on the front camera while you record, import one from your gallery and trim it, or set a GIF as the visual.
A C++ JUCE engine for real-time recording, effects and mixing on the phone.
AI lyrics, AI voice filters, vocal-to-beat matching, automatic mastering and noise reduction.
The first app was native Android; the next version moved to React Native for both platforms.
A Node.js backend with around 50 services on AWS for beats, collaborations and uploads. FFmpeg on the server cuts thumbnails for every uploaded video and streams 1-minute beat clips.
Result
138K+ installs and a 3.9★ rating on Google Play, with every part of the product, from the video editing and audio engine to the store listing, built and run by one person.
