Context

FanFliQ gives independent music artists a direct line to their fans: exclusive tracks and videos, fan profiles, and insight into who their real fans are.

The problem

The product needed two apps (one for fans, one for artists), a backend and an admin side, and it had to start earning quickly. Exclusive, unreleased music also had to be protected from fans simply screen-recording it.

The app, screen by screen

The pitch: artists sell music, videos and more directly to their fans
How it works: an artist signs up on the app
The artist invites fans with a link to their own community
Upload a release and set your own price for music, videos and more
Fan data in one place: community size, earnings and engagement
An artist's page, as fans see it
Fans buy access with UPI, cards or wallets
Fans play the exclusive music and videos
Fanverse: fans post and talk with the artist
Three steps for an artist to join

What I built

A fan app and an artist appIn production

Two Expo apps: phone and email sign-in, profiles, albums, exclusive audio and video, and onboarding.

Backend and analyticsIn production

A Node.js backend and an event-driven analytics service processing 50K+ events a day.

Tools around the appsBuilt

An admin panel, an artist console, a web app and a CRM for the team.

The hard part

01Stopping fans from screen-recording unreleased tracks

The standard Expo screen-capture module blanked the screen on iPhone with no explanation, which looked like a bug to fans, and did nothing useful on Android.

02Patched on iOS, a plugin on Android

I patched the module's native iOS code to show a clear 'protected content' message instead of a blank screen, and wrote an Expo config plugin that adds a screen-guard activity to the Android build.

What artists say

“FanFliQ changed the way I connect with my fans. It's not just another platform—it's my own space where my community actually engages. The best part? I'm making more money here through pre-releases and exclusives than I ever did from streaming!”
Shubham KabraShubham KabraArtist on FanFliQ
“Streaming gives you exposure, but FanFliQ gives you ownership. My fans directly support my music, and I've built a dedicated core audience who buy my exclusives and interact with every release. If you're an artist, this is a no-brainer!”

“The best thing about FanFliQ? I'm in control. I send direct updates to my fans, notify them about drops, and see exactly who my top supporters are. Instead of chasing algorithms, I focus on building a fanbase that actually pays for my work.”

“FanFliQ gave me a direct line to my real fans. No algorithms, no middlemen—just pure community. My pre-releases and exclusive drops actually generate revenue, something streaming alone could never do. If you're serious about music, this is where you build your tribe!”
